Serial Killer Ivan Milat Diagnosed With Terminal Cancer
Serial killer Ivan Milat has reportedly been diagnosed with terminal cancer after undergoing tests on lumps in his throat and stomach at a Sydney hospital.
The 74-year-old convicted murderer was transferred from Goulburn’s supermax jail on Monday and taken to Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick.
Known as the Backpacker Killer, Milat may never return to NSW’s highest security prison where he was sentenced to spend a life in prison in 1996 for murdering seven travellers.
Their bodies were found in makeshift graves in the Belanglo State Forest in NSW in the 1990s.
Milat is being held in a secure section of the Sydney hospital where inmates are treated and will likely be transferred to Long Bay Jail hospital.
A source close to the Milat family has told the ABC that he has recently dropped 20kg and is being assessed for organ failure linked to geriatric anorexia.
Milat remains under heavy guard in hospital and is reportedly chained to his hospital bed.
