Reports Salim Mehajer Could Be In Trouble With The Law AGAIN

Just days after a highly publicised car accident which forced lawyers to postpone a number of scheduled court appearances, Salim Mehajer has allegedly been linked to car insurance fraud.

A police spokesperson yesterday confirmed that the former Auburn deputy mayor's companies are now under investigation for claims referred by NRMA insurance.

"The NSW police force has recently received referrals relating to reported fraudulent comprehensive vehicle insurance claims," police said.

"Investigations into these matters are now underway."

Mr Mehajer was due to appear in court on Monday for a two-day trial regarding the alleged assault of a taxi driver in April this year when the car he was travelling in was involved in a collision.

Footage showed the businessman being cut from his Mercedes by rescue workers before being transported to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

In light of the accident, Mr Mehajer's lawyer successfully applied to have his client's trials delayed until 2018, despite officials being unable to contact the doctor listed on the medical certificate..
