Prince Harry Just Opened The Invictus Games
The 2017 Invictus Games were officially opened in Toronto, Canada by the people’s Prince, Prince Harry.
The Invictus Games are the creation of the Royal, who got the inspiration to help wounded and sick military personnel and their families after his two tours of duty in Afghanistan.
Harry has had a busy day or two, meeting with FLOTUS Melania Trump and President Justin Trudeau ahead of the Opening Ceremony.
Taking to the main stage to speak to the stadium, Harry spoke about his flight home from Afghanistan in 2008 when he was joined on the plane by three injured British soldiers and the body of a Dane killed in action.
He criticised our “cynical, apathetic” world, and told the audience at the Air Canada Centre: “We can all win when we respect our friends, neighbours and communities.”
“I hope you are ready to see courage and determination that will inspire you to power through the challenges in your own life...You are Invictus. Let's get started!” Prince Harry said.
In what was a surprise to precisely no-one, Meghan Markle was there.
This was the first "official engagement” for the pair who didn’t look at each other, sit together nor speak the entire time.
