Police Officer Charged With Assault in Sydney's West
NSW Police have stated that an officer has been charged over the alleged assault of two people during an operation in Sydney's west earlier this year.
According to police facts, the male leading senior constable was allegedly trying to arrest a number of people in Dawson Mall in Mount Druitt in January when the incident occurred.
After an investigation by the Professional Standards Command, the officer was served with a Future Court Attendance Notice on Friday.
He is due to face the allegations of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Downing Centre Local Court in November.
The officer has since been suspended from duty with pay.
