Pistorius was charged and found guilty of culpable homicide, or manslaughter, late last year after fatally shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp through the bathroom door.
Steenkamp's family still believe the 28-year-old's sentence did not fit the crime, with lawyers arguing he should have faced a murder trial.
