Olga Edwards Found Dead Months After Kids Killed By Father
Olga Edwards, the mother of Sydney teenagers Jack and Jennifer Edwards, has been found dead months after her children were shot and killed by their father John Edwards.
It is believed that Olga's body was found by police today at her home, however, the cause of death has not been released by NSW police.
Ms Edwards' family overseas have been notified of the tragedy.
In July this year, Ms Edwards was left devastated after her estranged husband John shot and killed both of their children, 15-year-old Jack and 13-year-old Jennifer, at their West Pennant Hills home.
Police searched for John following the shooting but later found that he had turned the gun on himself.
The Russian-born solicitor was taken into the care of friends following the murder-suicide earlier this year which rocked the entire community.
Tributes immediately began to flow for the two beautiful children that were taken far too young and the community rallied behind Ms Edwards with support.
"The kids' mum, Olga Edwards, is currently in great distress and will possibly be out of work due to shock and bereavement for some time," a GoFundMe page said at the time
The GoFundMe page managed to raise almost $30,000 in just a matter of six months.
Following the tragedy, it was later revealed that John Edwards had been in a custody battle with Ms Edwards and he had legally purchased the handguns used in the murder months prior.
The incident caused politicians and activist groups to launch a review into firearms and domestic violence legislation.
