NSW Drivers Can Claim CTP Green Slip Refunds From TODAY
Four million NSW drivers are today eligible to claim back money from the State Government under the new third party insurance scheme.
Under the new scheme, most motorists saw a decrease in CTP green slip prices at the end of 2017 while today drivers will be refunded part of the cost of their last renewed green slip.
The refund was first rolled out to Western Sydney drivers but will now be made available to private vehicles registered in Sydney metro, Outer metro, Newcastle or Wollongong regions as well as some country regions before the end of March.
Any driver in these areas that have renewed their green slip since December 2016 may be eligible for the refund which is said to cost the State Government a total of $300 million.
Motorists in Sydney are expected to see the largest refunds with an average of $70 to be returned to each eligible individual, while drivers in regional areas can expect an average of $30.
The refund will be electronically transferred to eligible drivers once they had filled out the online form on the Service NSW website. To fill in the form, motorists simply have to log in using their MyServiceNSW account and provide their bank details.
The NSW government has stated that they will notify eligible people by mail if they do not apply for their CTP green slip refund online.
