Melbourne Man Ordered To Provide DNA Sample

A man accused of leaving his mate to die in a crash in Melbourne has been ordered to provide DNA so it can be compared to blood found on the driver's seat.

Michael Glenn Ashlin, 34, is accused of culpable driving and failing to help his friend Owen Sugay, who was left alone to die in the back seat of a crashed car at suburban Wollert in January.

Ashlin had refused to provide a DNA sample to police, but Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday made an order for him to undergo a swab procedure, authorising officers to use force if needed.
