Man Who Lost Family In Rozelle Explosion Has Found Love
John O’Brien believed he would never be the same again after a deadly fire took the lives of his wife Bianka and their 11-month old baby, Jude.
The man behind the botched insurance job, Sydney shopkeeper Adeel Ahmad Khan was just sentenced to 30 years to life in prison last week as punishment for the September 2014 blaze.
Now, John, the man who lost everything, has managed to find love again.
He has fallen for a policewoman he met during the crime’s investigation. Speaking publicly for the first time, Mr O'Brien told the Sydney Morning Herald that police media advisor Michelle Minehan "saved his life" after the devastating incident.
"In a lot of ways she's saved my life," Mr O'Brien said.
"She made me feel like everything was going to be OK." Mr O'Brien said he was a mess, he thought he was going to be locked up and have a mental break down but Ms Minehan picked him up when he was at his lowest.
"That beautiful person changed my whole outlook on life," he said.
Ms Mineham was aware of what Mr O’Brien was dealing with after his loss and became a major support to him.
Over time their conversations became personal. Now the couple are living together and expecting their first child in eight weeks, SMH reports.
Congratulations to the beautiful couple!
