Man Robbed Of Yeezys At Knifepoint In Park In Sydney

An investigation has been launched into the robbery of a pair of Yeezys in a park in Sydney’s inner west overnight.

According to police reports, a 22-year-old man had been contacted by a prospective buyer for the Adidas Yeezy 750 triple black SD shoes he was selling online.

The two agreed to meet at Johnson Park on Constitution Road in Dulwich Hill at about 7.30pm on Monday evening where the buyer asked to try the $1100 shoes on.

Once he had put the shoes on, however, he took a knife from his bag and threatened the seller, fleeing the park without paying.

Police believe that the theft may be connected to a similar incident which occurred earlier in the evening at the nearby Arlington light rail station; in that instance, a man was robbed of a $1000 jacket he had also advertised on the internet by the prospective buyer.

On both occasions, the alleged thief has been described as about 16 years old, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance and about 170cm tall with a medium build.

At the time, he was wearing a black hoodie and black tracksuit pants.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
