Man Charged Over Road Rage Incident With a Chainsaw
Police have charged a man following an alleged road rage incident in Sydney’s west.
Just before 5pm on Tuesday a Toyota Hilux and a jeep stopped at the intersection of The Horseley Drive and McLaren Street in Fairfield.
The Toyota driver got out of his vehicle and approached the jeep driver, a 34-year-old man, allegedly punching him through the open window, before wielding a chainsaw.
A fight broke out on the road, with members of the public stepping in.
Both men left the scene.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.
Following inquires, police arrested a 25-year-old man at Fairfield Police Station about 8.30pm on Wednesday.
He was charged with affray, and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Monday 7 May 2018.
