Man At Centre Of Balcony Fall To Be Charged With Murder

A man who sparked a 12-hour stand-off with police after his girlfriend's body was found in a laneway at the base of a Sydney high-rise block of flats, is due back in court.

The body of Hee Kyung Choi, 34, was found by a passer-by in a lane near the heart of the busy Chatswood shopping and business district on a Monday morning earlier this month.

Her 37-year-old boyfriend,Korean-born tiler June Oh Seo, was charged with one count of domestic violence-related assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is expected to appear via video.

After investigators interviewed 90 people, including former partners of Seo, it's expected police will today charge him with murder.

It's belived that the pair had split two months before her death and that Seo, who is married with a young son, was trying to renew their relationship.

A friend of Ms Choi, Joon, told The Daily Telegraph last week she came to Australia as an overseas student and stayed to eventually gain citizenship.

“She made a lot of friends, she knew a lot of people, she was very outgoing,” he said.

A former colleague said Ms Choi “was charming, very active and always had a big smile”.
