Hugh Jackman Releases Sweet Tribute To Late Mother-In-Law

Four days after the sad news of her passing broke, Hugh Jackman has taken to Instagram to dedicate a touching tribute to his late mother-in-law, Fay Duncan.

The actor and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, had rushed to be by Ms Duncan's side in Melbourne a little under two weeks ago.

And now the Wolverine star has publicly honoured the woman he once described as "the best mother-in-law".

"I'm blessed to say Fay Duncan was my Mother-in-Law," Jackman wrote. "She was one of the greatest women I've ever met.

"Wise, funny, loving, cheeky, generous and a true leader.

"She had an incredible gift for always being right... which must have been a true burden for her as she was also incredibly patient with us mere mortals.

"Fay, I love you more than words can express. HJ."

Ms Duncan, who had been ill for some time, was a pioneering philanthropist; in 1989, she helped to set up the Bone Marrow Donor Institute, which, today, provides access to 10 million potential donors around the world.

She also established the Red Ball, a charity fundraiser which helps to raise money for the Fight Cancer Foundation, and, in 2014, was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women.

Our thoughts are with Ms Duncan's family and friends during this difficult time.
