Huge New "World-Class" Project Coming To Parramatta
The Powerhouse Museum's move to Parramatta has been described as something western Sydney "well and truly deserves" by Arts Minister Don Harwin.
Mr Harwin yesterday explained that the government was committed to delivering a "new world-class iconic museum at Parramatta" that would serve as an "anchor" for the area's cultural scene.
"To me, that could have a museum usage, it could have a gallery usage, it could be a performance space - I'm not limiting it," the Minister told The Daily Telegraph.
"It will, in my very strong view, become the anchor for a broader arts and cultural precinct for the region.
"It's something I believe western Sydney well and truly deserves."
It's not yet known if a version of the existing Powerhouse Museum will remain at the current Ultimo site.
