Woman Complained of ‘Crippling Headaches’ Days Before Dying

A highly-regarded engineer has passed away just 11 days after complaining about having a crippling headache.

27-year-old Supreet Kaur from Queensland was visiting her family in Perth when She was ordered by a GP to undergo a crucial CT scan on October 17.

Her family claims, despite being referred by the GP, staff at Fiona Stanley Hospital allegedly ignored her doctor's referral for a CT scan.

Hospital staff took samples of Ms Kaur blood and she was sent home with pain killers.

The results were returned on October 21, by then the patient endured severe headaches, vomiting and had struggled to walk and suffered eyesight problems.

Ms Kaur’s GP referred her for a second time to the emergency department and urged her family to contact him if the hospital sent her home again.

The family claims she spent three nights in hospital before she received a CT scan which revealed a blood clot on her brain.

The young woman was rushed to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for emergency surgery but despite efforts to save her, it was too late.

On October 27, her family made the decision to turn off her life support.
