Creepy Clowns Set To Gather At SYDNEY MURDER SITE Tonight
The creepy clown saga just got even WEIRDER - and we're NOT here for it.
Sydney police have been alerted to a possible gathering of clowns at a notorious murder site on the northern beaches, rumoured to take place tonight.
One Facebook group claims to have "information regarding an apparent massive clown event", happening at North Narrabeen's Deep Creek Reserve; with 6,000 followers and more than 150 comments on the post - including one that reads "no joke, we are going in with weapons" - police are concerned that things could get out of hand.
"We'll be there to greet them and if they commit an offence, they can expect legal action against them," Northern Beaches duty officer Inspector Luke Arthurs said.
"It is against the law to intimidate members of the public."
As if a whole gang of freaky fancy-dressed clowns isn't bad enough, the planned meeting point happens to be where a gruesome murder was carried out more than 20 years ago.
According to The Manly Daily, Palm Beach resident Stephen Dempsey was fatally shot at the reserve on August 2, 1994 by Richard Leonard; after dumping Dempsey's body in the creek, Leonard returned a few hours later to dismember him.
The convicted murderer then kept the body parts in his fridge for more than four months, before weighting them with rocks and sinking in Pittwater in December of the same year.
Hands up who else isn't going outside tonight?
