Former Motorcycle Champ Wayne Gardner In Road Rage Incident
Aussie motorcycle great Wayne Gardner has spoken to police after an alleged road-rage incident in Japan.
According to local news reports, Gardner, 57, was reportedly questioned after an accident near the Twin Ring Motegi race track.
The Shimotsuke news service has reported that Gardner was aiding police with their inquiries about the motor vehicle accident.
The 1987 500cc world champion was apparently driving to the track to watch his son 18-year-old Remy who was racing in the Moto2 event.
The incident resulted in Remy missing the pre-race warm-up but he started the race, eventually finishing 18th.
Gardner was the first Aussie to win the world premier class title, and the main straight at the Phillip Island circuit is named in his honour.
