FIFTH Man Charged Over Insane Motoring Scam Across NSW
A fifth man is due to be charged with more than 200 offences after police dismantled a fraud syndicate and recovered 18 luxury vehicles.
Police will allege in court the syndicate obtained luxury motor vehicles through fraudulent applications to various financial institutions. The vehicles were then sold in NSW and interstate.
Among the 18 vehicles recovered are Mercedes Benzes, Range Rovers, an Audi RS6, a GTS Holden Commodore, a Ford Ranger, and a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Investigators have previously charged four men, aged 36, 35, 34 and 25, who remain before the courts.
They had attempted to arrest another 34-year-old man but were unsuccessful. The man is alleged to have repeatedly rammed a police vehicle at Condell Park in September 2018 before evading police.
He was finally arrested at a Greenacre home on Friday and charged with 210 offences. A Mercedes Benz C63 AMG was found in the garage and seized.
The man appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday and was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Wednesday.
