Ferry McFerryface In Rough Waters Again, Smashes Into Wharf
The Sydney ferry, controversially named Ferry McFerryface, is in rough waters again after the vessel crashed into a wharf on Wednesday morning. T
he boat suffered minor damage to its bow after it collided with a wharf at Balmain East in Sydney Harbour at around 11am on Wednesday.
It is reported that passengers were onboard during the time of the crash but luckily no-one was injured.
Ferry McFerryface has now been taken to a shipping yard in Balmain to undergo repairs.
The ferry has been bombarded with controversy since it’s introduction last year. Ferry McFerryface was announced as the winner of a naming competition for Sydney’s latest ferry, however, it was later revealed that NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance had handpicked the name himself.
The Ferry will soon be renamed the May Gibbs after a renowned Australian children’s author.
