Farmer Wants A Wife Star Seriously Injured In Horse Fall
A former star of The Farmer Wants A Wife was placed in an induced coma after falling from a horse in WA over the weekend.
Ralph Lyster, known as ‘Farmer Ralph’ in season three (2009) of the outback dating show, was competing in a polocrosse tournament in Capel, south-west of Perth, on Saturday morning when he fell.
The 37-year-old father was flown to Perth in a critical condition and placed in an induced coma.
"Ralph hit the deck very hard and his horse came over him so it was a head impact straight into the ground," Chris Corbett from the Serpentine Foothills Polocrosse Club told 9 News Perth.
"It was quite scary at the time because he was completely unresponsive and took a little bit of time to start breathing."
He said Lyster's helmet was badly damaged, indicating how hard the impact was.
It’s understood he has since been brought out of the induced coma and is awake and breathing on his own
He is expected to make a full recovery.
