Fans Furious At A League Grand Final Rip Off

Ticket scalpers are flogging tickets to Saturday's A League grand final for a whopping $10,000, leaving punters angry.

The match that'll see the Newcastle Jets take on Melbourne Victory at McDonald Jones Stadium sold out within minutes after going on sale on Tuesday.

Hours later they were being sold on resale websites at astounding prices.

State Labor isn't happy either, saying the Government had promised to stop ticket scalpers with new legislation announced in October last year.

“The Government anti-scalping legislation clearly is not worth the paper it’s written on. The Minister needs to pick up the phone and put an end to these practices," said Shadow Better Regulation Minister Yasmin Catley.

But the minister says he's frustrated too, and promises the practice will come to an end when the laws come into effect from June 1.

"We'll be putting the power back in the hands of genuine fans," Matt Kean said.
