Exciting News For Michelle Payne
Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Michelle Payne is set for her racing return with two rides at Sale in country Victoria.
Payne hasn't ridden competitively since she underwent pancreatic surgery after a race fall at Mildura in May.
She reunites with the Henry Dwyer-trained Lucky Liberty who she has ridden to all five of his starts and is also booked for Birds Of Tokyo for trainer Luke Oliver.
Payne said she was excited about her return.
"Not many dull moments in the last year...So thrilled to be given the opportunity to return on two very nice horses." Payne tweeted.
The jockey had been weighing up her riding future and was recently granted a dual trainer/jockey licence.
