Dog Dies On Plane After Being Placed In Overhead Locker
A dog has sadly died after being placed inside an overhead bin during a flight from Houston to New York.
On Monday night, it is believed that a passenger boarded United Flight UA1284 with a small 10-month-old dog inside a TSA-compliant carrier.
It is understood that a flight attendant told that passenger that the animal had to be placed in an overhead bin for the duration of the four hour flight.
During the flight the dog tragically lost it's life. United has since released a statement assuming full responsibility for the "tragic accident".
"We assume full responsibility for this tragedy and express our deepest condolences to the family and are committed to supporting them," the airline said to NBC 5.
"We are thoroughly investigating what occurred to prevent this from ever happening again."
Another passenger on the flight who witnessed the incident has said that they would not be flying with United Airlines again after the incident.
