Outrage As Brock Turner To Be Released From Prison This WEEK

Brock Turner, the former Stanford University student convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman, is set to be released from jail this week.

Turner sexually assaulted a 22-year-old woman behind a garbage bin after a frat party in January.

The attack was stopped by two passing cyclists who wrestled Turner to the ground until police arrived.

In March the former swimming star was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault and was sentenced to six months in jail.

Now, after spending just three months behind bars, Turner will be released on “good behaviour”.

It’s a shock decision, and one that will surely stir public outrage, as many already felt the jail term was already far too lenient.

Turner’s victim was celebrated for her bravery in writing this powerful and detailed letter about the attack.

However, the punishment was a far cry from the six-year jail term requested by prosecutors.

Judge Aaron Persky, who presided over Turner’s case, came under harsh criticism with millions petitioning for his dismissal. Since then, Persky has removed himself from hearing criminal cases. He was frequently accused of leniency towards athletes.
