Baby Girl Dies After Parents Plea For Stolen Phone
An 11-month old Melbourne girl has died just days after her parents' desperate search for their missing mobile phone, which contains hundreds of family photos including those of their dying daughter.
The father of baby Amiyah Windross, Jay, posted a heartbreaking Facebook tribute sharing their "utter sadness" at losing their child.
"Amiyah’s last hours were spent peacefully and calmly, cuddling in Mummy’s and Daddy’s arms," he said.
"Amiyah battled hard and fought an undiagnosed neurological issue from the day she was born.
"Her strength, her courage, and her unrelenting fight was on display from her first breath, all the way till her last."
The news of Amiyah's death comes just five days after the parents posted a series of emotional pleas on Facebook for help finding a missing mobile phone.
"Someone has picked up Dee's phone from a toilet next door to Target in Chadstone around 5:30 pm," the post reads.
"It is a Samsung Galaxy S8 with a purple cover.
"Our 11 month daughter is currently deteriorating in ICU and is in her last days with us and this phone holds all our memories of her.
"We understand that you have either found a new phone to use, or you can sell it to make money, but please understand that this means more than money to us. This is worth life to us."
Amiyah had been in and out of intensive care since she was born, and the phone contains most of the images the couple have of their daughter.
