Arrest Made In Connection With Claremont Killings: Reports
A man has been taken into custody in connection with the Claremont serial killing investigation, the ABC has reported.
The man, understood to be in his 50s, was arrested in Kewdale around 7am on Thursday.
Police also took a woman in her 20s, believed to be his daughter, neighbours reportedly said.
A WA Police spokesman told the ABC that officers were at the property “in relation to an ongoing investigation,” but wouldn’t comment further.
Sarah Spiers, Jane Rimmer and Ciara Glennon went missing from the Perth suburb of Claremont over a 14-month period between January 1996 and March 1997.
In August 1996, Ms Rimmer’s body was found in Wellard, south of Perth. Ms Glennon’s remains were found in April 1997. Ms Spiers’ body was never found.
