Andrew Denton Set To Undergo Heart Bypass Surgery

It's been revealed that popular TV personality Andrew Denton has been diagnosed with advanced heart disease and will soon be required to undergo multiple bypass surgery.

The diagnosis has forced Denton, 57, to pull back from the campaign to help legalise euthanasia in Australia.

As director of Go Gentle Australia, Denton may now miss Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews' bill for assisted dying when it's introduced and debated in the state Parliament.

Denton's office has said his work towards legalising voluntary assisted dying would still continue under campaign manager Paul Price.

Mr Price told Fairfax Media:

"The Go Gentle campaign continues in full force,"

"In the next weeks and months we will be marshalling the support of the more than 75 per cent of Victorians who want voluntary assisted dying to become law."

Everyone at WSFM is sending Andrew our very best wishes and hope he has a speedy recovery.
