500 Jobs In Western Sydney At Risk After Red Lea Goes Bust
Hundreds of Red Lea Chickens employees have been left uncertain about their future with the company after the company was placed into voluntary administration before the Easter long weekend.
Red Lea Chickens was forced to close down operations on at approximately 8.00pm on March 29 after being placed into voluntary administration with the company saying on their website that they had “no alternative”.
The company has run a processing plant since 1957 in Blacktown with over 500 employees, who are now coming to terms with the possibility of losing their jobs.
A meeting was held by administrators of the family owned business at the processing plant in Western Sydney on Tuesday to advise employees of their fate.
McGrathNicol partners Barry Kogan, Jason Preston and Kathy Sozou have been appointed as administrators.
