When Aussie Supermarkets Get Their Prices Hilariously Wrong

We’ve all seen ‘specials’ offering discounts of $0. Unit prices that don’t add up. Bulk buying options that don’t save you money.

Since November, Consumer advocate Choice have been campaigning to have the compulsory system improved.

Unit pricing shows the cost of an item in a fixed quantity - head into any of the big supermarkets and you’ll find on every product’s shelf label.

But Choice don’t want it scrapped, they want a review into it – and in fact, they want it expanded to cover smaller supermarkets, discount chemists and hardware stores.

Despite it being introduced to help customers make comparison shopping easier, these pictures show that it isn’t always the case.

Sometimes hilariously so.... our gallery above is proof of that.
