The Aussie Dollar Is About To Hit 90 US Cents
If you’re planning a trip to the US, you’re in luck.
For the better part of the last seven years, the Aussie dollar has stayed painfully low, hitting only around the 70 mark on average when compared to the worth of the US dollar.
As you can imagine, this has made overseas shopping - and buying up big overseas - a painstaking task where Aussies were the losers, every single time.
Well, the greats news is that all looks set to change in 2018.
Economists have told 7 News about the impending shift saying the change is due to a global lift:
"Looking into 2018, we see the Australia dollar climbing, as we expect it to get support from a lift in global growth, which is expected to support commodity prices, and we expect the RBA to lift the cash rate in 2018," explains HSBC chief economist Australia and New Zealand Paul Bloxham.
"We expect the Australian dollar to head towards 90 US cents."
ALL OF THE SHOPPING.
