Amazon Australia Has Officially Launched & You Need To Know
It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for - Amazon Australia is FINALLY here, which means you can officially start your Christmas shopping today.
So, what’s the verdict? It was a mysterious beast, Amazon Australia, set to upset a lot of retailers, such as JB-HIFI and Toys ‘R’ Us. Unfortunately for them, Amazon may have achieved just that.
Upon looking through the site, you’ll see that the categories are laid out easily enough; electronics, beauty, toys & games, clothes and e-readers - funnily enough - take out the top line, and within them, lies a fairly moderate range of items, only likely to grow larger over time.
What draws me to Amazon overseas is the unique, more obscure items you can’t get at typical stores; think heat-up unicorn slippers, outrageous adult-only card games, unique, NICHE gifts - something that seems to be missing from the Australian counterpart at this time.
What about the prices?
Yeah, moderate. I don’t see huge price drops, but maybe that’s just me.
One thing that I did like was the free delivery on some items, like the Inflatable Bubble Soccer Ball - that’s a welcome change for online shopping.
Some items are also only available for pre-order, like this cool tree swing.
However, some items you get told how many are left, like with this Trunki Frieda Cow Trunki Ride On Suitcase, where I’m told there’s only one left.
Will I be hooked on Amazon this minute?
No, not yet - but I have no doubt it will come as they acquire more brands and more niche products I can’t get at my local shopping centre.
