Why Sleeping In Could Actually Be Killing You
A new study has revealed that too much sleep will SHORTEN your life.
While you may have believed that Sunday morning sleep in is a great way to rest up and catch up on sleep you missed during the week, it may be time to reconsider.
A new study from the University of Sydney found that those who oversleep (adults sleeping more than nine hours a night) or over-sit (more than seven hours a day) and under exercise (less than 150 minutes each week) are more than four times as likely to die early compared to someone who practices healthier habits.
Unsurprisingly, the study also revealed that people who engaged in smoking, a high alcohol intake and lack of sleep (less than seven hours a night) were also four times more likely to suffer an early death than those who don't.
However it is those who are physically inactive and get too much sleep that are at the most risk of an early demise.
Following that combination, being physically inactive and sitting too much was the second most deadly combination, while smoking and a high alcohol intake came in third.
Aim for 8 hours sleep a night - that's the perfect amount!
