Blogger Shows Why Measuring Your Health By Weight Is Wrong
If you are living your life based on the number on the scales, you may be doing it all wrong.
My Sweat Life blogger Kelsey Wells has shown that we shouldnโt be doing this in a set of photos. Wells posted the photos to her Instagram and account and they showed her at different stages of her fitness journey.
In the three photos, she weights 145 pounds, 122 pounds and then back up to 140 pounds.
She did this to show people that they should not be worried too much about what the scales say.
Wells said ''I figured it was time for a friendly, yet firm reminder. YOU GUYS. PLEASEEEEEE STOP GETTING HUNG UP ON THE NUMBER ON THE STUPUD SCALE! PLEASE STOP THINKING YOUR WEIGHT EQUALS YOUR PROGRESS AND FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING PLEASE STOP LETTING YOR WEIGHT HAVE ANY AFFECT WHATSOEVER ON YOUR SELF ESTEEM, like I used to."
She continued her plea by giving her own view on her experience and saying that she thought being 122 pounds would be her best weight but now disagrees saying โโTHANK GOODNESS I finally learned to start measuring my progress by things that matter โ strength, ability, endurance, health, and HAPPINESS. I have never had more muscle and less body fat than I do now. I have never been healthier than I am now. I have never been more comfortable in my own skin than I am now. And if I didn't say #screwthescale long ago, I would have.''
''I have never had more muscle and less body fat than I do now. I have never been healthier than I am now. I have never been more comfortable in my own skin than I am now. And if I didn't say #screwthescale long ago, I would have gave up on my journey."ย
"So to the little teeny tiny voice in the back of my head that still said '๐ณwtf is this- not 140!?๐ญ๐ฉ' last week when I stepped on the scale, I say SCREW. YOU," Kelsey wrote.
''And I think you should probably say the same to your scale too."
So that proves it, itโs how you look not what you weight. If you are happy with what you see, donโt stress.
