The Three Things You Should NEVER Do After Sex

When it comes to indulging in a bit of afternoon delight, there are some definite dos and don'ts.

Do: Use protection.

Don't: Call out the wrong name.

Do: Make sure the other person has an orgasm.

Don't: Repeatedly ask if they have orgasmed.

But now we have even MORE don'ts, and these ones are coming straight from your doctor.

Listen up; your vagina will thank you for it.

Don't: Get in a hot tub

'What?!' we hear you cry. "But that's the first thing I want to do post-bang!" Well, you can't.

Jumping into a hot tub - or a soapy hot bubble bath, either - with your lover isn't great news for your poor vagina.

"When your vulva swells in response to sexual stimulation, it reveals the opening of the vagina, which means you have a greater chance of infection," gynecologist Leslie E. F. Page tells Women's Health

"If you're in a hot tub with your partner, that means you're exposed to the bacteria on his [or her] skin and anus."

Showers it is!

DON'T: SOAP UP

And when you're in the shower, please skip the Imperial Leather; lathering products onto your already tender bits can invite infection, too.

Leslie explains: "When the vaginal tissues have been lubricated, swollen and rubbed against during intercourse, it changes how that tissue reacts to the environment.

"The vagina is a self-cleaning organ," she continues, "and needs to be treated very, very gently - if you wouldn't put it in your mouth, you shouldn't put it in or around your vagina."

Weh weh.

Seriously, though, stick to water if you fancy freshening up.

DON'T: SKIP HAVING A WEE

Yes, the temptation to have a cuddle and go straight to sleep is STRONG but you're going to be so much better off if you get up, nip to the loo and have a wee.

Things get sweaty and messy down there, and your old friend bacteria can come to play; peeing flushes out anything that might be travelling up your urethra and trying to start a bladder infection.

THEN you can go back to bed and start spooning.
