Birthing Photographer Shames Expectant Mum For Worst Reason
This makes our blood boil.
Pregnant women and young parents are subject to their fair share of judgement, criticism and conflicting information on how to care for their new bundle of joy.
But this is next level.
What's worse is the criticism comes from a complete stranger - who works as a photographer specialising in child birth photo shoots!
A woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, inquired about having said photographer at her c-section delivery.
The response from the photographer is not what she was expecting.
The photographer hurled abuse at the expectant mother for 'cutting corners' and not delivering the baby naturally.
“A surgery isn’t birth my dear,” the unnamed photographer wrote.
“You aren’t giving birth. You have a surgery to remove your baby from your abdomen, that is not birth no matter how you swing it and I for one don’t want to be there to take pictures of it.
“If you decide to give motherhood a go from the get, let me know and we can schedule your session.”
We can't imagine what would happen if the photographer attended the birth of a child that ended in an emergency c-section.
What's more concerning is the mother-to-be initially stated she didn't 'opt' for the c-section - so we can only imagine what advice she was following from her doctors and medical team.
We think this new family are much better off without that negative energy and judgement in the room at the time of birth.
