An Anti-Aging Gin Has Just Hit The Market
Time to get practicing on those Martini skills, because a new and innovative type of Gin is about to make it onto the shelves.
And if you usually make yours with vodka, well trust us...you're going to want to make the switch (And as Blair Waldorf says to little J, Gin is the way it should ALWAYS be made).
While the popular impression of alcohol is that it tends to be bad for us, a new brand of Gin aptly titled 'Collagin' is challenging stereotypes with a spirit they say is filled with skin and beauty benefits.
The alcohol was invented by Young in Spirit, a company based in the UK, and it claims to be the first ever alcoholic drink company to distill their drink with pure collagen.
And for all those out there who didn't get the memo, collagen is a magically abundant protein that acts as an anti-aging treatment and keeps skin looking youthful.
Camilla Brown and Liz Beswick are the two masterminds behind the idea, which came to them when they thought about combining the two worlds of beauty and spirits.
Speaking about their latest invention, the team at Collagin said, "With an elegant and refined taste, this unique recipe has stayed true to the principles of a classic gin with 11 botanicals including star anise, pink grapefruit and orris, but with the innovative addition of pure collagen."
And if rumours prove correct, very soon we might see some other drink mixers taking the plunge into the collagen pool! The company is apparently planning a launch of other spirits with the youthful benefit.
Sadly, it doesn't look like it's available in Australia yet, but when it is, it'll be Gin all round!
