Sydney Chinese New Year Festival’s Dragon Boat Races

Sydney Chinese New Year Festival
Dragon Boat Races

Dragon Boat racing has been a Chinese cultural institution for more than 2,000 years, and it's now an international sport. One of the most anticipated events of Sydney's Chinese New Year Festival, these 12 metre dragon-headed vessels race to the beat of a drum, and you can watch the exhilarating spectacle up close at Cockle Bay wharf in Darling Harbour.

Make sure you head down to the festival's, Dragon Boat Races on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th February at Darling Harbour to check out the best of the best race for victory, including Jonesy & Amanda, who will take their Celebrity Dragon Boat Race to the water on February 24.

Celebrate the year of the dog at this year’s Sydney Chinese New Year Festival, on from February 16 until March 4.
