Watch Police Arrest Sydney Woman At Gym Still In Her Lycra

CCTV footage has been released showing police arresting a lycra clad woman mid-way through a class at a Sydney gym.

The woman can be seen being escorted away by police after allegedly stealing from fellow gym-goers.

In what looked like a scene from a cop show, the 50-year-old woman from affluent eastern suburb Bronte, was in the middle of a step workout when she was tapped on the shoulder by police.

It's alleged that three weeks earlier the same woman was caught on CCTV going through peoples bags in the storage section at the gym.

An purse and $1600 in cash were taken, and the video of the fitness fanatic thief went viral.

Trainer Matt Garry of Lifecycle Fitness, called police after he recognised the woman had returned to the gym.

'Totally bamboozled why she would turn up again - obviously she hasn't been watching the news' he said.

Jess Griffiths, a member at Lifecycle Fitness, was also surprised the woman had returned to the scene again.

'Oh my god she's back and she's in the same gym gear!'

'I think she's a local, and plenty of people have seen her around,'

The 50-year-old woman has been charged with three counts of unlawfully taking a person's property.

She was granted conditional bail and faces court later this month.
