Want To Take A Look Inside Sydney's Ugliest Building?

Driving over the Harbour Bridge it's impossible NOT to notice the Sirius building.

The weathered collection of concrete boxes that look like they were put together by a drunken baby have divided opinion among Sydneysiders since it was built in 1979.

Serving as public housing, the NSW Government now wants to knock down the building and replace it with luxury apartments.

To help combat the proposed development, long term residents as well as the buildings architect, Tao Gofers, recently opened their doors to the public to help raise awareness of their plight.

The public had the opportunity to meet one of the buildings oldest residents, 90-year-old Myra Demetriou.

Residents hope this initiative will alert the public to their plight following the government's recent decision not to heritage-list the building, despite a recommendation by the Heritage Council.
