Truck Driver Charged Over Drenching Cyclists
A truckie who allegedly drenched cyclists with water and filmed them using his mobile phone has been charged by police.
The video was allegedly recorded while the truckie drove his prime mover through a puddle in the Sydney Airport tunnel on the M5 motorway on Monday.
Police said one of the cyclists reported the incident to police. On Wednesday, police said officers pulled over a truck driver at a heavy vehicle inspection site, where he was issued with the court attendance notice.
The maximum penalty for menacing driving with intent is 18 months in jail and/or a maximum fine of $3300 for a first offence.
He has been charged with using a mobile phone while driving and driving a motor vehicle to menace others with intent.
The man was issued a court attendance notice to appear in Waverley Local Court on September 21 to the 43 year old.
