This AUSSIE Fashion Chain FINED For Not Refunding You!
Fashion retailers have come under fire for conning customers about their refund and exchange rights.
Top level label Sportscraft has paid fines totalling $21,600 to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission following reports showing there was ''reasonable grounds'' to believe the brand made false or misleading claims about shoppers rights to remedies for fault garments.
The ACCC has said that one other retailer is being investigating and they are expecting to take further action.
The watchdog said that from at least January 29 this year, Sportscraft states on receipts that customers were not entitled to return or exchange items from clearance stores.
Then from March 29, the companies website also said they would not refund, exchange or credit note items after 21 days of their purchase.
Under the Australian Consumer Law, customers can seek remedies if the goods are not of good quality, do not fit or do not match their description.
