The Truth About Why The Germanwings Plane Crashed
We were all devastated by yesterdays news that another plane had met a disastrous end, killing all 150 people on board, including two Australians.
Now, as officials listen to the recordings recovered from the crash site, they've realised a couple of things about the sequence of events that occured.
Firstly, it seems that there was a call for help, which differs to what we originally thought. It also seems that the reason the plane may have gone down is because the pilot was locked out of the cockpit prior to the crash.
The audio indicates that one pilot left the cockpit and could not re-enter.
“The guy outside is knocking lightly on the door and there is no answer,” the investigator said. “And then he hits the door stronger and no answer. There is never an answer.”
He then said, “You can hear he is trying to smash the door down.”
What they don't yet know, according to officials, is why the pilot left the cockpit in the first place. The one thing they're sure of is that, at the very end of the flight, the other pilot is alone and does not open the door," says one official.
