The Thing Australia Needs To Offer To Get More Blood Donors
Donating blood is a wonderful gift to give. Saving a life is a HUGE deal and donors should be proud of what they do.
Yet there aren't enough giving.
In Sweden, blood donors are now receiving TEXTS every time they save a life.
Karolina Blom Wilberg, a communications manager at the Stockholm blood service told the Independent "We are constantly trying to develop ways to express (donors) importance. WE want to give them feedback on their effort and we find this is a good way to do that."
This new initiative has been encouraging donors in Sweden to come back and donate again, when they can.
If Australia was to implement this social initiative, their numbers are very likely to go up as well.
Giving blood is a very rewarding experience because you know that you're potentially saving lives. However, to be told through a text that you've just saved someones life, would be beyond amazing and most importantly, very inspiring.
