KFC Used To Entice Pig On The Loose In NZ Town
An unlikely tactic was used to corral a pig on the loose on the streets of a town in New Zealand town on Sunday night.
The pig, estimated at 150 kilograms, caused an emergency response after being reported trotting through the streets of Waihi.
But it was how police eventually captured the porker that’s making headlines.
KFC was put down to lure the pig and, like many of us human-folk, the porker was no match for The Colonel.
Specifically, KFC chips and dinner rolls did the trick.
"We got into a pursuit with a pig," Waihi police Constable Harley North told a local radio station.
He believed the pig was likely to be a pet that had broken out but stopped short at how it got loose.
"They fed it KFC chips and bread rolls to distract the pig and stop it running down Seddon St," Constable North said.
The pig was later corralled into a makeshift pen where it’s understood the pig was later returned to its owner.
