Jamie Oliver's Foul-Mouthed Tirade At "Junk-Food Parents"
Jamie Oliver has launched a foul-mouthed tirade at parents who let their kids eat junk food.
The celebrity chef, who has been on a mission in recent years to educate schoolchildren on the health consequences a poor diet can have on their development, was reportedly provoked while filming his latest show, Jamie's Return to School Dinners.
"I've spent two years being PC about parents, now is the time to say 'If you're giving your young children fizzy drinks you're an a**ehole, you're a tosser'," a usually genial Oliver exploded.
"'If you give them bags of crisps you're an idiot. If you aren't cooking them a hot meal, sort it out.'
"If they truly care they've got to take control."
The fiery outburst was sparked when Oliver was confronted, off-screen, by a mother who admitted to feeding her one-year-old Coca Cola and refused to make shepherd's pie because it was "too posh".
"I have seen kids of the ages of four or five, the same age as mine, open their lunchbox and inside is a cold, half-eaten McDonald's, multiple packets of crisps and a can of Red Bull," the award-winning chef continued.
"We laugh and then want to cry."
Oliver is now calling on the English government to allow teachers to confiscate unhealthy food from their students and to more closely monitor the contents of their lunchboxes.
