Grave Fears For The Health Of 81 Year Old Burt Reynolds
For years he was an international sex symbol, appearing in countless hit films including Smokey & The Bandit, Cannonball Run, Deliverance and The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas.
But now aged 81, Burt Reynold’s frail physique had fans concerned about his health following a rare public appearance at The Palm Beach International Film Festival’s Student Showcase of Films recently.
Looking far different from his legendary Cosmo centre-fold days, the Hollywood heavyweight appeared frail and moved with the aid of a walking stick before addressing his adoring fans.
Sadly, it appears The Boogie Nights star’s health problems have finally taken their toll.
Stretching back to 1984, Burt's health first took a severe turn when filming a stunt on a film went wrong and he was accidentally struck in the head with a metal chair, which resulted in him developing a prolonged addiction to pain killers.
In recent years Burt has endured back surgery as well as a quintuple heart bypass, and recently endured rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.
He has also been rumoured to have undergone several facelifts, although he has denied going under the knife to maintain his rugged good looks.
Speaking with OK! Magazine the movie star set the record straight on cosmetic surgery rumors.
“I was never lifted,” he said.
“I would not have a problem with the truth, but I inherited my smooth skin from my father.”
