Gentle Giant 8 Year Old Footy Player TOWERS Over His Rivals
Video showing an under-8s rugby league player weighing 100kgs has taken the internet by storm this week.
Nicknamed the 'gentle giant' Vaka Tuitupou is just seven years old and towers over his team mates and opposition players alike.
The young boy is of Samoan heritage and after footage of him tearing through his opponents was posted on social media, the New South Wales Rugby League was forced to step in.
NSWRL General Manager BJ Mather told Daily Mail Australia that Vaka's game time was now strictly limited.
'He has played in five games throughout the season and in each of those matches, he has participated in two quarters,'
'The child has been described as a gentle giant, and they are monitoring his development throughout the season.'
'NSWRL provides opportunities for teams to participate in weight and age competitions during the season and post regular season competitions.'
The NRL has been debating changing junior rugby league from age to weight divisions to prevent smaller children from being hurt.
The idea is currently being trailed at games in Sydney's west.
