Erin Molan Denies Being Offered Role On Revamped Footy Show

After the shock news last night that Paul 'Fatty' Vautin has been dumped from the NRL Footy Show after 24 years as host, there was speculation that Erin Molan will front a revamped program in 2018.

However Erin, 35, says she doesn't know what role she will play in Channel 9's plans for next year.

While the Daily Telegraph reports Molan will replace 58 year-old Vautin in a bid to to win back female viewers, Molan has told The Fix she hasn't received any information about the shake-up.

“For starters this is all news to me,” Erin said.

“I haven’t been told anything about what the show will be doing next year, what direction it will be taking or what the role will be."

“I understand there will be changes, but regarding who will be there or who won’t be there, I honestly have absolutely no idea at this stage. I have not been told.”

It's believed next years Thursday night show will be a shorter program without a live audience or musical entertainment,  and a Monday night Footy Show will also be aired, along with the regular Sunday broadcast.

However Vautin will still stay with the network in a commentary role.
