Croc Dundee Commercial Star 'Open' To Making A New Movie
After the hugely successful commercial for Tourism Australia featuring a 'reboot' of Crocodile Dundee ran during the Super Bowl, one of the Aussie actors involved in the project has now confirmed they would be interested in bringing the movie back to the big screen.
Chris Hemsworth has told News.com.au, 'Hearing such a positive response from a fan point of view, I would definitely be open to it,' said the 34-year-old Thor star.
However, Hemsworth added that a 'great script' would be needed before committing to a new sequel, but admitted he has been thinking about his schedule over the coming months and if a Dundee reboot would actually work.
The Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home ads, starring Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie and other Australian A-Listers, are the central plank of Tourism Australia's $US27 million campaign designed to make Australia the most desired destination to visit among US travellers by 2020.
The Super Bowl ad featured an appearance by the original Crocodile Dundee Paul Hogan, who also headed Australia's successful "shrimp on the barbie" tourism ads of the 1980s.
American comedic actor Danny McBride plays the central role in the ads as Dundee's long lost doofus son returning to the outback to save his dad.
