Bad News For Fans Of Retro Food, Sizzler Kogarah Is Closing
During the 1990's it was almost a right of passage to eat at a Sizzler restaurant.
Chowing down at the all you can eat salad and pasta bar, creating your own desserts, and of course, enjoying their famous cheese bread is a guilty pleasure we all used to enjoy from time to time during the restaurant chains heyday.
But in the last ten years the number of restaurants in Australia has dropped dramatically, and now one of only two left in Sydney has announced that it too will be closing it's doors for good.
Sizzler St George, on the corner of the Princes Highway and Jubilee Avenue at Kogarah will be no more by the end of the week.
Diners spotted a sign on the restaurant doors that reads:
"Thank you for your patronage over the last 29 years"
"Unfortunately our Sizzler St George restaurant will close after trade on Sunday, April 9"
The low key announcement was confirmed by a Collins Food Limited spokesperson:
“Sizzler St George staff and management have done a fantastic job delivering a great dining experience to our customers every day”
“We thank them and also our St George customers who we look forward to welcoming to our Campbelltown restaurant soon.”
Let's make sure we don't lose the Campbelltown branch guys, the thought of a Sizzler-less Sydney is too much to bear!
